A good nun, I sweep
the gritty floor. My cool smile
hints at warm secrets,
at gate gate, at om,
at nothing different from dust.
A good nun, I sweep
the floor of someone else’s
sacred house, mouth words
not mine. The words don’t matter,
only this, the crisp swssh, swssh.
